Laboratory, Experimental Building Station.
Work involved testing the acoustic performance
of building materials.
1974 - 1987 Senior Tutor then Lecturer University
of NSW, School of Architecture. Work responsibilities
involved lecturing in all aspects of architectural
acoustics at undergraduate and at postgraduate
level. This included environmental noise
and noise control. Research work undertaken
during this period was primarily in the area
of environmental noise, in particular road
traffic noise.
1972 -1973
Research Associate, Portsmouth Polytechnic,
UK, School of Architecture Worked on a number
of projects involved with environmental noise
1983 - 1985 Attached worker Building Research
Establishment, UK, Worked on a number of
projects involved with environmental and
community noise as well as the acoustic performace
of buildings.

of Environmental Design, University of Canberra,
Lectured in Human Environment Studies for
architecture, building and industrial design

Education
Research Interests
Acoustics and Vibration. Most of the work has been in environmental and occupational noise. In the environmental noise area a number of projects have involved transportation noise, its effects and control. In the occupational noise area the projects have involved measurement and assessment of noise exposure and recommendations for the reduction of the noise levels.
Consulting Interests
Noise measurement and analysis, organisation and participation in continuing education activities. Cconsulting in acoustics and vibration. Over 25 years experience in acoustics including testing performance of building materials, building acoustics and environmental noise studies (in particular road traffic noise). Occupational and environmental noise measurements and assessments, noise and vibration contol, and transportation noise prediction.
