Professional and Teaching Experience
3 years experience as a structural engineer; design and construction; immediately after first degree in 1969. Assistant Professor at the Dept. of Civil Engineering, Riyadh University, Saudi Arabia, 1977-1978. Assistant Professor then Associate Professor at the Dept. of Civil Eng., University of Kuwait, 1978-1990. Visiting Fellow at the Dept. of Civil and Maritime Engineering, ADFA, 1986-1987, and 1989-1990. Deputy Director of Professional Training at the Department of Defence, Canberra, 1991-1992.

Durability of reinforced concrete structures. The use of silica fume, blast furnace slag, and fly ash in concrete. Structural light weight concrete. Fibre reinforced concrete. Fracture toughness of concrete. Bond of reinforcement in reinforced concrete. Deflection of reinforced concrete elements
