OHS and First Aid Training

Information on OHS and First Aid Training is available from the Staff Development Unit.

Induction

Heads of Schools/Centres must provide induction training covering the specific risks associated with their areas of responsibility. All staff including postgraduate students and others who assume responsibilty for teaching undergraduates must receive induction training.

The Manager, OHS & Facilities conducts general OHS induction sessions with new employees as required.

Laboratory Safety

Laboratory safety training is required for academic and general staff, postgraduate students and demonstrators/sessional teachers who work in laboratories.  Courses are conducted on an as-required basis. Contact the Manager OHS and Facilities for details.

DVD Library

UNSW@ADFA has purchased a number of OHS training DVDs that are available for short term loan to Schools/Centres or to individual staff members.

OHS for young people - SafetyZone

WorkCover NSW has produced an interactive multimedia internet site 'SafetyZone' to help young people when they first go to work. Registration is not necessary unless you want a Certificate of completion.
