For Staff

The Academic Language and Learning (ALL) lecturers work with academic staff in all the disciplines to develop students’ study skills and learning strategies in a number of ways:

• Academic staff in the different schools can negotiate to team-teach with the ALL lecturers to incorporate discipline specific language and learning workshops or tutorials into existing courses.

• Academic staff can consult with the ALL lecturers to develop suitable teaching and learning strategies to assist the students in their courses.

• When lecturers or supervisors identify students requiring further guidance with their academic skills, they can refer those students to the ALL unit.

• Academic and general staff from language backgrounds other than English can attend workshops or book individual consultations to help them with their English.
