Student and Academic Support Group

About

The main purpose of the Student and Academic Support Group (SASG) is to provide client focused support for the teaching, research, training and administration needs of the UNSW@ADFA, via four work groups: the Academy Library, Educational Technology Services (ETS), Information, Communication and Technology Services (ICTS) and Student Administrative Services (SAS).
SASG is the central support group of the UNSW@ADFA and our broad aim is:

" to provide a wide range of services that are high quality, cost effective and continually improve to meet the needs of our clients".

The Deputy Rector is accountable for the development and ongoing management of the student experience at UNSW@ADFA through the component units of the Student and Academic Support Group.

Academy Library

The Academy Library provides quality client focused access to information in support of the UNSW@ADFA teaching, research, training and administrative needs.

Library information services are available to staff and students both on-site and off-campus and includes an online enquiry service, Ask Us. The library promotes and teaches information literacy, and subject focused classes are offered each year in collaboration with academic staff.

Essential course materials are made available in print or online and a digitisation service is provided for these materials. Materials not held by the library are obtained via Inter Library Loan and Document Delivery services.

Other services include: lending services tailored for off-campus students; printed and online guides to services and resources; the provision of copyright support; contributing UNSW@ADFA theses to the national Australian Digital Theses database; and training in the use of EndNote bibliographic management software.

Our aim is to provide a diverse range of professional services to our students, staff and other internal and external clients.

SAS is the central point of contact for prospective students and provides guidance and assistance on the admissions process for undergraduate, postgraduate coursework and research and non-award students.

SAS is the central provider of administrative services for all students and the data in the student information system facilitates many of the processes provided by SASG.
