The Sir James Rowland Seminars honour the contribution of Air Marshal Sir James
Rowland, former Chief of the Air Staff (1975-79), to the development and understanding
of Australian air power.

It is a Joint initiative of the Air Power Development Centre (APDC), RAAF and the
Australian Centre for the Study of Armed Conflict and Society (ACSACS) UNSW Canberra.

The Seminar is a forum aimed at bringing together air power practitioners, academics,
Defence personnel, members of other government agencies, as well as students of
armed conflict and international security to broaden the understanding of air power as a
critical element in ensuring the nation’s defence and security.

Wing Commander Darin Lovett, Chief of Air Force Fellow, UNSW – Space Power

Dr Ross Mahoney – Air Force culture

Lieutenant Colonel Keirin Joyce CSC, Unmanned Aerial System Sub-Program Manager, Australian Army – Autonomy

Squadron Leader Michael Spencer, Air Power Development Centre, RAAF – Hypersonics

Professor Sanu Kainikara, Air Power Development Centre, RAAF
