Mission
Our mission is to excel in defence and security (both military and civilian) research and development to serve the needs of the Australian community and to be an asset of expertise that defence and security government and industries, including DSTO, can leverage when needed.
Our Role

Aims
- To provide a world-class research centre that is responsive to the needs of the ADF and security (military and civilian);
- To build the capacity to conduct highly innovative and cross-disciplinary research and to achieve recognition as outstanding world-leaders in the area of security and defence applications;
- To enhance and build upon the existing network of UNSW@ADFA researchers;
- To provide Australia with high calibre post-graduates with cross-disciplinary security and defence expertise; and
- To undertake research that enhances Australia's future economic, social and cultural well-being.
