Information Technology Infrastructure Advisory Committee

Terms of Reference

The Information Technology Infrastructure Advisory Committee (ITIAC) is an Advisory Committee to the Rector and will:
Identify and document the existing Information Technology Infrastructure [including resources] at the UNSW@ADFA campus, including the relationship with IT infrastructure at UNSW's Kensington campus.
•  Identify the shortcomings of existing Information Technology Infrastructure [including resources] at the UNSW@ADFA campus, and make recommendations to address these short comings.
Develop a UNSW@ADFA Information Technology Infrastructure Strategic Plan for the approval of the Rector.
•  Monitor the implementation of the approved Information Technology Infrastructure Plan and specific Strategies across the College.
Develop and recommend Standards and Guidelines for Information Technology Infrastructure procurement and maintenance; and develop a College-wide strategy for implementation of these.
Develop an Information Technology Infrastructure Replacement Strategy for the College for recommendation to the Rector and monitor the implementation of the approved Strategy.
Monitor issues in relation to the management of the UNSW@ADFA Information Technology Infrastructure and recommend College-wide solutions to address any management issues that arise.
Monitor issues in regard to staff training needs in regard to the use of information technology by academic and general staff, and make recommendations regarding this area to the Rector.
Develop a College-wide framework for the regular evaluation of the UNSW@ADFA Information Technology Infrastructure, as defined by the principles of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), including mechanisms for consultation.

Membership

  The Rector (Presiding Member)
  One Associate Dean.
    This member is to be nominated by the Rector and may act as the Presiding Member as appropriate on the direction of the Rector.
  Director of the Academic Support Group.
  Director of Finance, Personnel and Planning.
  Manager, Information and Communication Technology.
  Information Technology Consultant.
    The Rector appoints this member.
  One or two external members nominated by the Rector.
  One representative for each School.
    This representative should have a working knowledge of the School's Information Technology infrastructure and requirements.

Presiding Member

The Presiding Member of the Committee would be the Rector, who will also have the authority to nominate another member of the committee to act as Presiding Member as appropriate.

Secretariat support for the Committee is provided by Student Administrative Services.
