Privacy

The University is committed to ensuring that the privacy of students and the collection, storage and use of personal information is undertaken in accordance with the NSW Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998.

The UNSW Privacy Website and the UNSW Privacy Management Plan outline how the University complies with the NSW Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act and the steps that those with a concern or complaint may take to have the issue resolved. There is also a summary of how privacy at UNSW@ADFA Privacy at UNSW@ADFA is managed.

There are some Centres within UNSW@ADFA that have specific privacy issues and these Centres have developed policies that outline their compliance with the UNSW Privacy Management Plan:

Should you have any concerns, please contact the Manager, Student Administrative Services in the first instance. Should your concerns still not be resolved, please contact the UNSW Privacy Officer following the guidelines outlined in the UNSW Privacy Management Plan. Complaints can also be made directly to the Privacy Commissioner, although individuals are encouraged to approach the UNSW Privacy Officer in the first instance.
