Course Readings

The Academy library Course Readings team facilitates access to course resources by processing course readings lists for instructors.

This service includes creating dynamic reading lists using the Leganto tool, adding high demand hardcopy material to the Course Readings Collection, and digitising items not currently online.

Submitting Course Readings to the Library

Reusing an existing Course Readings List

Courses which already have a Leganto course readings list can choose to rollover the existing list for the next semester.

Rollover enables reuse of permalinks and Moodle LTI links, which will redirect from a previous reading list to the new list.

Instructors can request a reading list rollover by emailing the Course Readings team:

About Leganto

Leganto is a course materials system offered by UNSW. This tool operates as an online hub for course materials – easy for staff to create and update course material lists to enable students to access on any device.

From Semester 1 2019, course readings lists submitted to the Academy Library Course Readings team will be processed in Leganto. The benefits of this tool for instructors include:

• Deliver dynamic lists gathered from a range of sources including the Library collection, internet, and multimedia resources

• Comply with copyright restrictions by having the library team generate appropriate links to resources and verify the copyright status of materials

• Promote engagement by allowing students to ‘like’ resources, make comments, and share recommendations with classmates and lecturers

• Extract analytics on student interaction with the course materials such as full-text access views

• Easily update content and reuse elements from semester to semester
For instructions on adding Leganto course reading lists to Moodle, see the Leganto Guide.
