myLibrary Account
myLibrary is your personal library account. It allows you to view details of items that you have borrowed and renew and request items. You are also able to set search and result display preferences. You access myLibrary with your zID and password.
We highly recommend that you login to myLibrary prior to searching the catalogue for access to a full array of services.
Note: Non-UNSW borrowers do not have access to myLibrary.

Lost Item Replacement FeeOnce overdue by 30 days, a Lost Item Replacement Fee will be applied. This is comprised of a $120 replacement fee and a $35 administration fee. At the moment, both fees are waived once the item is returned. |
Academy Library Conditions of Use
Blocks
Borrowing privileges will be suspended for outstanding fines or charges of $20 and over.
Enrolment in classes will be blocked if your library fines balance exceeds $100.
Avoid fines, penalties and blocks
- Return or renew items on or before the due date
- Read library notices emailed to your official UNSW Canberra email address (or the nominated email address of non-UNSW borrowers)
- Check your MyLibrary account regularly
- Ensure that your personal details are current in myUNSW
- Return items on loan to you before travelling away as due dates may change.
Pay fines and penalties
Online: Select 'Fines & Penalties' on the UNSW Online Payments page.
Please be advised that once fee payment has been made there will be a short delay (up to 24 hours) before full borrowing privileges are restored.
In person: Ask at the Service Desk – no cash facilities are available.
Library Notices
The Academy Library sends notifications to borrowers via email.
These notifications include information about:
- the availability of requested materials;
- due date changes (recalled items) and overdue items;
- as well as courtesy messages about approaching due dates.
Notices about loans, recalls, requests and fines are sent to your University email address, or the email address you provided when applying for a card.
Library notices are a courtesy. You are responsible for returning or renewing loans on time, regardless of receipt of library notices. Check your myLibrary account regularly to keep track of your loans, holds and any recalls.

Getting your notices
If you use a SPAM filter, we recommend that you include "no_reply@unsw.edu.au" as a legitimate sender of emails.

Lost or Stolen Cards
If your ID card is lost or stolen, please report it immediately to the staff at the Library Service Desk or on 0434 369 043.
To get a replacement card, visit the ICTS Service Desk. Please note that a $10 replacement fee will apply to students.
