Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN)
After some 40 years in gestation, 1100 scientist years' worth effort and the expenditure of some $1.3 billion the Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN) is now a key element of Australia's northern maritime surveillance system.
JORN encountered many widely publicised technical, commercial and political difficulties before eventually being deployed successfully. Members of the School of Business PRISM team are therefore analysing the JORN project in terms of what it tells us about innovation in Australia.
