Professional and Teaching Experience
Dr James Warn teaches in the areas of organisational behaviour, leadership and human resource management. He is committed to the value of lifelong learning and instils this ethos into his teaching practices. James' teaching performance has been recognised with a UNSW@ADFA Teaching Excellence Award.
Dr Warn's current research, involving international collaboration, is investigating the long term value of higher education with a particular emphasis on military officers. He is also investigating road safety culture in the community with another team of researchers and in another a further research project. In another research project he is examining the meaning and function of strategic leadership.
Dr Warn combines a practical approach with extensive organisational psychology experience. In conducting his research and consultancy, he utilises his extensive academic background to develop a strategic orientation while maintaining a practical focus.
Dr Warn is a registered psychologist, a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and former Chair of the ACT Section of the APS College of Organisational Psychologists. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and a Visiting fellow at the Centre for Defence Leadership ( Australian Defence College ).
