Mr Gayan Mapitiya

Gayan Mapitiya is currently reading for his PhD in Accounting. He was awarded UNSW international student scholarship to carry out PhD studies. He is a Chartered Accountant by profession. He holds BSc. (Accounting) Special Degree with a First Class standing and an MBA with a Merit Pass. He was the overall Batch-Top and the Gold Medalist in BSc.(Accounting) Degree Program at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka. Also, he was awarded four prizes including merit and subject prizes for the performance he has shown in the Chartered Accountancy examinations in Sri Lanka.

He has academic experience for a period of almost 10 years. He has been teaching Financial Accounting, Financial Reporting and Management Accounting, Financial statement Analysis and Social Research Methods for undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs and for Chartered Accountancy examinations for the past decade.

Gayan's current fields of research are Management Accounting, Cryptocurrencies and Corporate Governance.
