John Smyrk is a Visiting Fellow at the School of Business.

Spent ten years in industry (steelmaking, heavy engineering and process control) before returning to full-time study at Monash University -- gaining an Honours degree in Economics (with a specialisation in Econometrics), and a Masters degree in Economics (with a specialisation in Operations Research).  Masters thesis concerned the application of signal theory to the analysis of business time series.

Since the early 80s time has been divided between research, teaching and consulting (all areas related to Project Management).

Special research interest:  the theoretical foundations of Project Management.

Publications include papers in the British Journal of Management, The International Journal of Project Management and various conferences in Australia and overseas.
