A UNSW Canberra Researcher has been appointed to the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Committee as a human factors advisor.
As part of her role, Dr Peta Miller will be advising the CEO and the ARPANSA Council on nuclear safety matters. She will also be discussing the safety of controlled nuclear facilities.
The Nuclear Safety Committee consists of 12 members from across Australia, who will work to assess several aspects of the codes, practices, standards and procedures of the nuclear industry in Australia.
Dr Miller joined UNSW Canberra in 2018 as a Senior Lecturer and Researcher of Work Health and Safety practices, following a 35 year career in the industry.
She is currently working on a number of research subjects including good work design, wellbeing and psychological health and safety, and WHS peer networks.
