Institutional Change

This research examines the actions of organisational actors in responding to change in the institutional environment and the ways they attempt to influence outcomes at the level of the organisational field. Specifically the paper examines the establishment of a joint service military academy in Canberra, Australia. The Academy case study provides opportunity to explore the multiple competing demands that give rise to change, the responses of the organisational actors and to identify more precisely the role of agency in institutional  change.
