Dr. George Leu completed a B. Eng. (Hon.) in communication systems engineering at the Military Technical Academy of Romania in 2003, a M. Eng. in electrical engineering and IT at the National Defense Academy of Japan in 2008, and a PhD in computer science at UNSW Canberra - the Australian Defence Force Academy campus - in 2013.

He currently holds a Research Associate position in the School of Engineeering and IT, UNSW Canberra. Prior to the current appointment he was with the Romanian Ministry of Defense for six years in an engineering management role, and with the Romanian Institute for Research and Development in IT for a year in a R&D role. His current research interest is in computational modelling of human cognition and behaviour, from a Computational Red-Teaming perspective.
