Carolyn Carr is a PhD candidate with the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at UNSW Canberra at the Australian Defence Force Academy. Her research is investigating New Zealand Great War troopship magazines as a sub-genre of soldierly print culture and highlights their use for debates around national identity from a New Zealand perspective.Carolyn graduated from Canterbury University with a Master of Arts in English Language and Literature and from Massey University with a Master of Philosophy in Defence and Strategic Studies.  She is the Chief Librarian for the New Zealand Defence Force.
