UNSW Canberra Student won the First Prize in the Indonesian National Speech Contest in Australia
The School of Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) congratulates Sean Gallagher (3rd year) as the first prize winner and Tingting Luo (3rd year) as the finalist for the national Indonesian speech contest organised by the Indonesian Embassy, Canberra this month.
They are both majoring in Indonesian Studies at UNSW Canberra. Last year they received the Australian government’s Asian Mobility Grant to undertake an in-country language study program organised by UNSW Canberra. Both students will receive a prize from the Indonesian Embassy for their outstanding achievements.
The first prize winner, Sean Gallagher will travel to attend the Indonesian Independence Ceremony at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta in August to represent Australia and undertake cultural immersion activities together with winners from 18 countries.
