War and Society Seminars

War and Society

Introduction

War & Society seminars debate issues relating to the nexus of social and military history. The seminars run from 5.00 – 6.30pm on the second Tuesday of the month during university semesters in Room 106, Building 29 (Humanities and Social Sciences), UNSW Canberra at ADFA.

The usual format is to have two 20-minute papers on a related topic; one from a postgraduate or early career researcher, the other from an established academic or historian. The presentations are followed by a question-and-answer session.

Those who participate—as presenters or audience—are doctoral candidates and academics from ACT universities, professional historians, recent PhDs, independent scholars, Australian Defence Force personnel, and interested individuals. Attendance is free; no registration is required.
