Controlling Space Vehicles with Human Brain Signals


This is a visionary project that builds on our existing work on the analysis of human brain signals. The aim is to design a simple simulation environment for a space vehicle and directly use human brain signals to issue commands to interact with the (on board and on ground) command and control system of the vehicle. The immediate practical gain from the project would be a monitoring system of the human mental states during a space mission. This project requires a student with a passion for understanding the basics of neuroscience, with excellent signal processing, aerodynamics skills and programming. This project needs a self-motivated student with the impetus to inspire people, advance science and engineering, and create breakthrough technologies.
