About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Technical Officer to join the Technical Support Group (TSG) within the School of Engineering and Information Technology (SEIT), UNSW Canberra. The Technical Officer provides technical support to the teaching and research activities of the School, principally through design, development, fabrication and commissioning of mechanical components and systems.

About the Successful Applicant:

The successful applicant will be an experienced fitter and machinist and have the capacity to scope, design, develop and deliver various engineering components in a jobbing environment. There will also be a requirement to be part of various teams for the installation, commissioning and operations of equipment to support teaching and research activities. The successful applicant will be able to work autonomously as well as a member of project teams.

To be successful an individual must understand the importance of clear and timely communications with stakeholders, and possess the ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders ranging from academics to higher degree research and undergraduate students and external suppliers. The position holder will need to be flexible and have the ability to adapt to constantly evolving demands and priorities.

We are seeking applicants who can demonstrate the ability to develop and effectively utilise stakeholder relationships to achieve strategic outcomes.
