China Scholarship Council Program at UNSW@ADFA
The China Scholarship Council (CSC) offers a number of scholarships to enable Chinese students from selected universities to complete PhD degrees overseas. These scholarships are highly competitive and prestigious.
UNSW has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the CSC, and we have formal agreements with three universities involved in its program: Ocean University of China (OUC), South China University of Technology (SCUT) and Tianjin University (TU).
CSC sponsored students from OUC, SCUT and TU who are accepted into PhD programs at UNSW@ADFA (1) do not have to pay tuition fees, (2) receive a top-up scholarship of $10,000 pa, and (3) receive an Establishment Scholarship of $1,000 upon arrival.
Since CSC scholarships require the applicant to have a supervisor and a project ready at the host university, UNSW@ADFA has compiled a list of potential PhD projects which we can support (see Scholarship Opportunities).
The closing date for 2010 CSC applications is expected to be around March 2010; the internal deadline for Chinese universities to select students for consideration by the CSC is expected to be around February 2010; names of successful applicants are expected to be announced in May 2010.
