Research & Research Training Office (RRTO)

Research Day

Research Day is held each year on the last Tuesday in October to celebrate the achievements of research students. The aim of Research Day is to focus on research students and research training support. Research Day is open to all academics, research associates, research students and staff supporting research.

Presentations are given by postgraduate research students in the morning with cash prizes (1st - $800; 2nd - $500; 3rd - $300) being awarded for the best research presentations. The presentations will be judged by Professor Sue Thomas, DVC (Research), Charles Sturt University; Professor Michael Cardew-Hall, Director of Development and Innovation, College of Engineering and Computer Science, ANU; and Dr Margaret Kiley, Senior Lecturer, Centre for Educational Development and Academic Methods, ANU. Students are encouraged to take part in the poster competition as single entrants or as a group. The poster competition attracts a $500 cash prize for the best research student poster displayed on the day. The afternoon program consists of information sessions for both research students and researchers. These informative sessions are of major interest to postgraduate research students and all students are encouraged to attend.
