Associate Professor Michael Ryan

Director - Capability Systems Centre

 

In addition to his role as Director of the Capability Systems Centre, Associate Professor Mike Ryan is the Director of Postgraduate Studies in the School of Engineering and Information Technology (SEIT).

He lectures, researches, and consults on a range of subjects including communications and information systems, systems engineering, requirements engineering and project management.

He is the author or co-author of eleven books, three book chapters, and over 170 technical papers and reports.

 

Dr Alan McLucas

Deputy Director - Capability Systems Centre

Dr Alan McLucas is the Deputy Director of the Capability Systems Centre and a Senior Lecturer in the School of Engineering and Information Technology.

Dr McLucas lectures and undertakes research on a range of subjects including investigating the integration of soft and hard variables as applicable to modelling of complex, dynamic systems in the fields of requirements engineering, systems engineering, project management, risk management and strategy development.

He is the author of one book and over a hundred technical papers and reports.

Mr Wayne Hargreaves

Centre Manager

Wayne is a project manager and systems engineer who has focused on Defence capability development, training and operational logistic planning and management during his 20 year Army career.

During his time at Capability Development Group he managed six major capital Defence projects during the Requirements Phase of the Defence Capability Life Cycle, including LAND 121 Phase 3B and 5B Medium and Heavy (Vehicle) Capability and Joint Project 157 – National Support Base Replacement Aviation Refuelling Trucks.

 

 

 

 

Senior Lecturer

Dr Sondoss Elsawah is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Engineering and IT (SEIT) and leads the modelling and simulation effort in the Capability Systems Centre.

Dr Elsawah's research program focuses on understanding the behaviour of large complex problems and systemic risks that arise from the interactions between social, ecological, and technological systems. This focus includes how to use that understanding to create computational tools that enable decision makers design and evaluate options to deal with such complexity.

Sondoss is the author of one book chapter and over 35 technical papers and reports.
