Academy Library Phased Re-opening!

10.06.20

Beginning on Tuesday 9 June, Level 1 (the entrance floor) of the Library will be open weekdays from 10:00 to 16:00 to UNSW Canberra staff and to all military undergraduate and other approved students who have access to campus.

All staff and approved students who wish to use the Library PCs and study spaces must have undertaken the ‘return to campus’ online compliance training and read documentation about health and safety protocols that have been put in place to ensure everyone remains safe from COVID-19.

A maximum of 42 people, in addition to library and military supervisory staff, are allowed access in the Library at the one time. Currently bookings are not required however this may change in the future.

Physical distancing of 1.5m is critical for those who want to remain in the space.

Lending Services and physical collections access

Client access to the collections is not yet available however the mediated retrieval service is in place to provide you with access to items from the Library’s physical collections. Items can be requested via the Retrieval Request form.

Some important points to note are:

  • MyLibrary can be used to view current loans and messages; to run search queries and save results

  • Clients do not need to return any UNSW Library items they have borrowed until further notice. If you have any lending services issues or questions, please call 0434 369 043 or use the Ask-Us Service.

  • You can still request interlibrary loans for items available electronically and not held by UNSW Library group.

  • Request and recall services are temporarily suspended.

  • The external returns chute remains open.
