Managing Non-traditional Projects in the Public Sector
Explore non-traditional applications of project management tools / methodologies to assess their validity in supporting complex policy work in the public sector.
Project methodologies are increasingly being applied to non-traditional areas of work in an attempt to control work processes and improve success. The efficacy of these methods has not been verified ‘in-field’ and as such the belief in the use is not empirically supported. This research will explore a range of policy work projects in the public sector to assess the extent of use and efficacy of project methodologies. This is a qualitative, case study, mixed-method project with the possibility of action research approaches for the correct candidate.
