Academy Racing Car (static display) |
Learn how Midshipmen and Officer Cadets use their technical, management and leadership skills to design, build, test and race a Formula SAE racing car. This project requires goals to be set, goals to be translated into specifications, and then designs to be developed against those specifications. The designs are realised to create a fully functional racing car. |

AIF Database-find your family in WW1 |
Call up an Anzac! Do you want to find out about a family member who served in the Great War? The AIF database is an online resource detailing the experience of some 340,000 members of the Australian Imperial Force who served overseas. The NZEF database will also be available for searching. On Open Day you can use the advanced search engine and see how many different sources have been integrated to produce the most comprehensive profile of the AIF available anywhere. |

Navy Hydrographic and Meteorological Branch Display | Meet the Navy’s Maritime Military Geospatial professionals. Hydrographic specialists are trained in capturing hydrographic Military Geospatial Information. See the portable survey equipment used to maximise tactical advantage during operations. Launch a weather balloon and learn how the environment plays a critical role in all military operations. See how submarines can use the temperature of the ocean to hide from ships, and how state of the art ocean and atmospheric modelling helps to determine the best times for amphibious landings. | Concourse |

Naval Studies Group Display |
Founded in May 2016, the Naval Studies Group (NSG) is part of the Australian Centre for the Study of Armed Conflict and Society (ACSACS) at UNSW Canberra. The NSG's goal is to provide leadership in the study and understanding of Australian and global naval history. NSG will have a display in the academy library to showcase their podcast series and to provide information on their programs. |
