Ned Dobos received his PhD in Philosophy from the University of Melbourne. Prior to joining UNSW Canberra he held research and/or teaching positions at the ANU, Monash, Melbourne, Deakin, and Charles Sturt University. More recently Dr. Dobos was a Visiting Scholar at the Oxford Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics, and a Senior Global Justice Fellow at the MacMillan Centre for International Studies at Yale University. His research specialisation is the ethics of war and political violence, with particular interests in armed humanitarian intervention, pacifism, and soldier-state relations. Dr. Dobos is the author of Insurrection and Intervention: the Two Faces of Sovereignty (Cambridge University Press 2012), and The New Pacifism: Just War in the Real World (Oxford University Press, forthcoming). He also works in business ethics and corporate social responsibility. After the credit-crunch of 2008 he co-edited Global Financial Crisis: the Ethical Issues (Palgrave). Dr. Dobos is currently Assistant Regional Director of the International Society for Military Ethics, Asia-Pacific Division, and an adjunct fellow with the Centre for Applied Philosophy and Public Ethics.
