What happens in space has a huge impact on what we do here on Earth. We rely on space technologies for everyday activities, like banking and GPS, through to other vital services, such as emergency management and environmental monitoring.
At UNSW Canberra at ADFA, we’re interested in harnessing space technologies to solve real-world problems. We believe expanding Australia’s capabilities in space is not only essential for national security, but also presents us with economic opportunities in a rapidly growing sector.
Our engineers specialise in miniaturised satellites and the use of disruptive technologies, such as on-board processing, artificial intelligence and autonomous systems. We are committed to using space responsibly and our research also addresses growing concerns such as space junk and the ethics of space exploration.
