Invitation to Participate in Research: Careers, Strategies and Practices of Australian Diversity Practitioners

UNSW Canberra researchers would like to invite diversity practitioners and consultants to participate in a research project.

The research aims to examine how these professionals develop and implement diversity management practices and initiatives within organisations. The research will identify the motivations and values that underpin diversity practitioners and consultants’ careers, strategies and practices. The research will also examine the role of these professionals in developing and implementing diversity and inclusion initiatives within organisations.

Researchers would like to interview diversity practitioners and consultants about their work. If you are a practitioner and would be willing to be interviewed, please email Dr Sue Williamson at E:

Interviews will take about 45 minutes. Organisations and employees will be deidentified in any resulting publications, in accordance with the ethics requirements of UNSW Canberra.

The research project is being led by Dr Sue Williamson at UNSW Canberra. Dr Williamson is an expert in gender equality and diversity management. Her profile can be viewed here. If you would like more information about this project, please contact Dr Williamson at

Note: ‘Diversity practitioners’ also include human resource officers who may not focus solely on diversity and inclusion, but work on these issues as part of their role.
