Learning from Evaluation
This project builds on previous work by Stewart and Jarvie seeking to understand why public sector organizations struggle to learn from evaluation. A purposive case study involving an Australian public reserch brokerage organization extends this investigation, by mapping learning opportunities against evaluation practice. The study has yielded insights into the importance of informal processes and the role of paradigms in the learning process. Ongoing work will provide both theoretical and practical insights into the nature of learning in public sector organizations.
