Professional and Teaching Experience

Bob Wylie specialises in public policy analysis, development and advice with particular reference to defence policy for Australian industry and civil infrastructure. His public policy expertise is based primarily on his 25 years as a policy advisor in the Australian Public Service - primarily in the Australian Defence Department but also in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet and the Australian Treasury. After leaving public service in 2000 Bob joined an economic consulting firm. He specialised in the economics of Australian industry involvement in the supply and support of defence capability. He joined School of Business in 2007.

Bob's research interests centre around how Australia, as a small open trading economy, balances indigenous development and overseas procurement in supply and supporting the materiel needed to achieve its strategic objectives.
