SEIT Success at the Unearthed Sydney 2017 Hackathon

Dr Michael Hush along with with one of his PhD students Mahasen Sooriyabandara, recently participated in an unearthed hackathon. The team (called ME.Maps) won the Young Innovator Award

Unearthed Sydney was a 54 hour open innovation hackathon event featuring real data and challenges from global leading resource companies. Sydney’s top developers, engineers, data scientists, entrepreneurs and startups selected one of several challenges on offer from the supporting resource companies and came together to build prototype solutions over the course of a weekend. The top teams were awarded cash prizes, credits and future development opportunities. All teams own all of the IP they generate at UnearthedSydney.

Paul Lucey, CEO Mine Vision Systems, is interested in the SEIT project and is looking to further develop the prototype they made on the weekend.
