Characterisation of mechanical behaviour of nanophotonic composites

Current project

Additional projects can be negotiated with SEIT supervisors who work in a related field.

Click on this link to see a spreadsheet containing a list of supervisors in SEIT and their respective research areas. Please contact the supervisors directly to negotiate a project.

We also offer research projects for Masters by Research and Master of Philosophy degrees.

All admission enquires for SEIT research degree students (e.g. Phd, Masters, MPhil) can be directed to:

Program Code: 1661

Objectives:

A multiscale numerical modelling technique and model and micromechanic analytical method will be developed in this research to model the effective macroscopic properties of Nanophotonic composites in this research. Based on the model, parametric studies will be conducted to study the effect of a series of geometry of the cells such as the shape and topology of the unit cell to achieve the most optical structural design for the metal material with the most desired properties. The candidate needs to have good academic backgrounds on Engineering Mechanics and numerical methods.
