UNSW Canberra Space Research
UNSW Canberra is investing heavily to develop a sustainable university-led program to undertake research in space. A capability is being established to routinely conceptualise, develop and fly affordable responsible in-orbit missions.
In conjunction with this research, the School of Engineering and Information Technology offers two specialised Master degree programs in Space Engineering and Operations.
UNSW Canberra is playing a leading role in shaping Australia’s evolving conversation and thinking about space. UNSW Canberra’s investment in space occurs at a time in which Australia’s direction in space is beginning to crystallise, capabilities are beginning to emerge, and government policy is taking shape.
The International Astronautical Federation runs a worldwide competition to select 14 young space professionals on the basis of their research background and submitted paper abstract quality. More than 113 students and young professionals from 40 countries throughout the world submitted applications to participate in the Programme.
