Integration of space vehicles and the air traffic control system
UNSW-Canberra has developed a real-time high-fidelity air traffic management situation awareness system. The aim of this project is to design high-fidelity agents representing different space objects and vehicles and integrating these agents within the air traffic management system. The fundamental research problems that this project will be addressing relates to the design and optimization decisions of the agents to determine the right trade-off between the high fidelity and costly aerodynamic calculations that can increase the accuracy of the situation awareness picture and the need for real-time high-speed calculations to maintain the situation awareness picture relevant. This project needs a student with a passion to work in a multidisciplinary area that crosses the boundaries of space engineering, aerodynamics, simulation and optimization. Good programming skills in C# are needed.
