The International Astronautical Federation worldwide competition

The International Astronautical Federation runs a worldwide competition to select 14 young space professionals on the basis of their research background and submitted paper abstract quality. More than 113 students and young professionals from 40 countries throughout the world submitted applications to participate in the Programme. Siddharth is one of the 14 young people the Federation has selected to participate and present his research findings in the 2015 IAF Emerging Space Leaders Grant Programme, and attend the 66th International Astronautical Congress in Jerusalem, Israel, from 12-16 October 2015. Siddharth is a PhD student at Space Engineering Department, SEIT investigating thermal convection on the Martian surface and its impact on the design of a Marsbound surface rover. He is also a Canberra Student Ambassador and active Mars Society member. Prior to this, he was a researcher at NASA Ames Research Center, USA.
