Integrated Air and Space Traffic Management System

Launching satellites into what is becoming a very congested (and contested) air and space environment requires an integrated Air-Space Traffic Management System (ASTMS). We have developed state-of-the-art distributed capabilities in Air Traffic Management (ATM) that operates in real-time, offline, and in simulation mode.

The capability integrates a wide range of data sources to provide a complete ATM Common Operating Picture (COP) for a user. The COP covers different ATM situation awareness pictures including safety, human factors, and environmental impact. It applies high-fidelity modelling and simulation environments with advanced data analytics methodologies for real-time development, analysis and diagnosis situation awareness tools.

We will extend the ATM system to a Space Traffic Management System (STMS) and provide an end-to-end integrated, distributed, and operational ASTMS. The system will act as a tactical system while providing COPs for operational requirements. It will have the ability to integrate with other command and control systems to deliver operational effectiveness. We will also apply computational red teaming (CRT) methodologies to discover and leverage opportunities in Space. The facility and capabilities we will develop will also be used for teaching our cadets in different space-related programs.
