Intelligent Security Special Issues led by UNSW Canberra academic as Associate Editor
UNSW Canberra academic, Dr Nour Moustafa, will serve as Associate Editor for two special issues related to intelligent security in the journal of Electronics, 1.76 impact factor and the journal of CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, 3.02 impact factor.
Dr Moustafa is looking for new research outputs in the special issues which focuses on Intelligent Security and Privacy Approaches against Cyber Threats in networks and Internet of Things (IoT) systems and said he is honoured to serve the research community in this domain.
“This is an exciting opportunity for me to serve as Associate Editor in the journals on a subject I am highly passionate about.
“The fact that I get to curate works from all around the world and be publishing papers from the best and brightest minds on this subject is a highlight for me professionally,” he said.
Dr Moustafa said that the COVID-19 pandemic has made the subject of cyber threats more important than ever, especially with the shift to a remote workforce.
“As many organisations have moved to work from home, cyber attackers have expanded their advanced persistent threats (APT) to exploit vulnerabilities of home networks.
“It really is urgent to develop well-designed privacy security approaches, algorithms, protocols, standards and policies for safeguarding home and organisation networks, and IoT systems against new cyber threats.
“I want to help people and organisations to understand what the practical insights are of ‘Security-based Home’, including cyber-attacks and cyber defences. Hopefully through this edition I can show the technical practices of ‘Security-based Home’ will enrich individuals' knowledge for protecting their home networks and securing their organisations’ assets.
“I will be collating papers that tackle this subject head on. From Intelligent security practices and model-based AI against COVID-19 threats through to Blockchain technologies for trusting home and organisation systems and networks, I hope to engage discussion on a wide range of issues on this one important topic,” Dr Moustafa said.
