Vedran ‘Maz’ Maslic is a multilingual, globally experienced leader with insights from military, entrepreneurial and academic environments spanning more than 18 years. He has led military operations in Afghanistan and Timor Leste, established community empowerment initiatives in Bosnia and Iraq, led strategy development in the private and public sectors, and developed extensive advocacy networks in complex multinational and multiagency environments in Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. He has lectured on interpersonal and intercultural communications at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden and currently instructs selected Australian Defence Force personnel on developing relationships-of-trust in culturally diverse environments. He also hosts the increasingly popular The Voices Of War podcast. In 2023, Maz will serve as the Chief of Defence Force Fellow during which time he will commence a PhD seeking to explore whether the operational environment causes moral drift of a deployed force, and if so, which risk factors have the greatest impact.
